Positive:

  • A blessing from God
  • A source of hope
  • Lovable
  • Crave milk
  • Incredible potential
  • Easily influenced

Negative:

  • Easily influenced
  • Vulnerable
  • Subject to disease
  • Controlled by others
  • Passive
  • Cause great pain and fear
  • Symbolize ignorance.
  • Are a burden
  • Driven by desires
  • Constantly needy

Observations:

  • The church’s greatest blessing and greatest vulnerability.
  • Need our constant and ceaseless love, attention, teaching, feeding, and care
  • Age-appropriate feeding is necessary
  • We must be aware of their characteristic weaknesses

Positive:

  • Loved by God
  • A source of hope
  • Can give God praise
  • Can obey and live right.
  • Can be consecrated to God
  • Have a humility God loves
  • Can grasp teachings adults might not understand
  • Enthusiastic
  • Can tolerate solid food 

Negative:

  • Vulnerable
  • Known for foolishness
  • Can be rebellious
  • Require constant attention
  • Think “childishly”
  • No root or depth
  • Easily discouraged
  • Fickle

Observations:

  • A great blessing and a great responsibility.
  • Must be taught, disciplined, and corrected
  • We should revel in their positive qualities
  • We must be aware of their characteristic weaknesses




Youths

Adults

Positive:

  • Attractive and strong
  • Brave and bold
  • Can be trusted with tasks
  • joyful
  • Can do battle
  • Can take godly stands
  • Capable of visions/dreams

Negative:

  • Known to be stubborn, impetuous, inexperienced
  • Set poor priorities
  • Capable of sin or rebellion
  • Can grow fatigued and discouraged
  • Often governed by lust
  • Can look impressive on the outside but lack character
  • Submission and respect do not come naturally

Observations:

  • Youth are church’s strong and brave warriors.
  • Their dreams and boldness a great asset.
  • Need constant teaching and encouragement.
  • We celebrate strengths but watch for weaknesses

Positive:

  • Accumulated wisdom, knowledge, and experience
  • Handle solid food/teaching
  • Been through trials and developed perseverance
  • Have the right priorities
  • know the difference between good and evil
  • Learned to control their emotions and tongues
  • Know how to be on guard, stand firm, show courage
  • Put aside childish ways
  • Capable of understanding a “message of wisdom”
  • Can discern spiritual things
  • Know the will of God
  • Know Christ
  • Have been transformed into his image
  • Have taken off old and put on new
  • Live in holiness and peace
  • Strong and wise
  • Teachers
  • Fruitful
  • Speak truth in love
  • Long to finish well
